This post was inspired by a discussion at the pub last night about how to pronounce ‘route’ (as in ‘the route from A to B’) and ‘router’ (the network packet-switching device, not the woodworking tool).

I admit that almost everybody pronounces it /rowder/ or /rowtuh/. If you’re one of these…

It wouldn’t be tumblr without pedantry. ;)

I kind of agree but this battle was lost years ago and I’ve kind of moved on.
